Hello World!

This is just a couple of minutes after I was born! I arrived at 2.32 pm on Wednesday 11th July 2001 at Hunterdon Medical Center, which is a hospital about 10 miles south of where we live. I weighed 9 lbs (4.015 kg) and was 22 inches (56 cm) tall.

Since it was very comfortable in Mommy's tummy I wasn't too keen to head out and so had to have some encouragement to make my debut. Once I took the hint I didn't hang around and labor only took two hours - in fact I came out so quickly that I had blood-shot eyes for the first couple of weeks!

Although this looks rather cold I was actually sunbathing under a very warm lamp that kept me nice and toasty - didn't stop me letting everyone know that I was none too impressed with my new surroundings!

A few more pictures from that momentus day...

Oooh! Lunch time!!!

Here's me and my big sister getting cuddles from Daddy. Oma and Opa had come to stay with us and they spent the day looking after Mimi at home while Daddy was at the hospital. About four hours after I was born Oma, Opa and Mimi came to visit us at the hospital. Mimi seemed quite excited to see me and kept saying "Baby". I've got to say that the whole experience had become a bit much and I spent most of the time asleep!

Both Mommy and I recovered very quickly and so we were able to go home the next day.
