Fun in the Sun

In March of 2002 we took a holiday in the Dominican Republic with Grandpa John and Grandma Rachel. We stayed in a town called Cabarete which is on the north coast of the island, in a very nice little resort. The beach was only a two minute walk away and there was lots to do there - Grandpa went windsurfing (he used to do a lot in Jamaica) and Mommy also tried her hand at it. Daddy seemed content to just lie on the beach with a beer ...

The weather was excellent and we enjoyed the fact that there were a lot of very reasonably priced restaurants on the beach. We had such a good time that we are planning to go back there early in 2005. About the only negative was that the diving really wasn't much good - the locals have been far too efficient in catching all the crabs and lobsters that there wasn't too much interesting sea life to see near the coast.

Oh goody! Dinner on the beach again.
